Rocky Rim Ranch is operated by Greg and Valarie Brooks.  In addition to their responsibilities in managing the cattle operation and the scientific deer breeding endeavor, Greg is an attorney and Valarie is a teacher in the Hamilton Independent School District.  They have four children.  The oldest, Ashley, is a graduate of Texas A&M, and a teacher in Princeton, Texas. They have three sons, Aaron, a senior at Texas A&M, Garrett, a senior at Texas Tech, and Carder, a freshman at Texas Tech.

Rocky Rim Ranch has been an operating cattle ranch for years and the scientific deer breeding operation was started in 2003.  The deer operation has been managed carefully and supplemented with quality deer having Boone & Crockett measurements of 200 or more on an annual basis.  The herd is mature and hunters harvested 20 bucks during the 2010-2011 season with many of them scoring from the 150s to the high 180s.  In addition to Greg and Valarie, the ranch has two full time employees who, in addition to helping run the ranch, are excellent hunting guides.
